About Me

On the morning of Friday, 27 October 2006, the Lord Jesus saved me from the slave-driving religion I found myself in and opened my blind eyes. Little did I realize when I got out of bed that morning, that it will be the last time I get up as an unsaved person.  That day I was to be taken from darkness into light. This was one of the first Scriptures the Lord gave me following that day: “It is for freedom that Christ has set you free…” Not freedom to do wrong, but freedom to do the right thing while following Him and not man-made rules that are passed off as commands from God.

My salvation was a radical one. Within days, a book that was previously dead and boring, became to me a book that’s alive and filled with limitless treasures. I learnt to love the Bible and find great joy in reading and studying. The challenge is to apply what I read to every aspect of my life. As time went by and as all my own efforts failed miserably, I’ve come to learn that it is exactly at that point where the Lord Jesus comes in. He does for me what I can never do for myself. As Paul said, “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing.” (Galatians 2:20b-21).

My walk with the Lord  has never been boring. It has been filled with trials, tears, peace and joy. I have a hunger to know our Lord Jesus more and more. Writing about Him is my way of sharing the wonderful things I learn as I study His word.

My desire is to share with as many people as possible the wonders of Jesus and the salvation offered by faith in Him. He is perfection Incarnate and the more I learn about Him the more in awe of Him I become. I would love for others to know Him too! You are welcome to join me as I share what I learn from studying His word –lessons about love, life, people; lessons about grace and the God of this universe.

Greetings from Cape Town, South Africa

  1. This is an awesome blog! Thanks for sharing so much of yourself.

  2. I don’t know if you read my “Behind the Oz” page or not but I lived in South Africa for 4.5 years. I worked with YFC in the schools playing guitar for one of their bands. Capetown is one of my all time favorite cities in the world that I’ve been to—along with San Francisco, Perth and Portland, OR, where I’m living now.

My brother’s wife is South African and her folks live outside of Capetown somewhere…

    small world isn’t it?

  3. Hi Jonny, I didn’t yet get to look at that page, but I will hop over to check it out. Yes, it is a small world indeed! Sound like you had a lot of fun while here. Would be interesting to know where outside of Cape Town your sister-in-law’s parents live. I live just outside of Cape Town myself. I am of course biased when I say that Cape Town is the most wonderful place to live in. Thanks for the comment :)
